Friday 1st November 2024

It has been a busy month here at NorthLink Ferries. In October, we welcomed students from RGU on board for a tour of the MV Hjaltland, attended some exciting events and released our much-awaited bookings for 2025.

We hope you enjoy finding out more about what we got up to this month!

Wednesday 2nd October:

Today, we welcomed a group of first year students from Robert Gordon University’s Events Management, International Tourism Management and International Hospitality Management courses to our Aberdeen Terminal.

They were given a tour onboard the MV Hjaltland and were hosted on the bridge by Master Chris Tait and 3rd Officer Magnus Thompson. This was followed by a Q&A session with Mathilde Hansen, Compliance Officer, and Amy Leith, E-Marketing Officer, who shared the experiences transitioning from being RGU students to now working at NorthLink Ferries.

We hope they enjoyed their visit and found the discussions beneficial!

Thank you to everyone who visited our stand – we enjoyed meeting and chatting with you all! We hope that the information and advice was beneficial and that you enjoyed trying our new VR tour of the ship showcasing the various jobs onboard.

Friday 4th October:

NorthLink Ferries were proud to sponsor the ‘Innovation in Tourism’ award at the Highlands and Islands Thistle Awards held in Inverness.

Our Customer Service Director, Billy Robb, presented the award to winners Loch Ness Hub and Travel, as well as Hebrides Cruises who were highly commended in this category.

It was great to see a number of businesses from within our operating areas be shortlisted for the awards. Congratulations to all the winners, finalists and every business who continues to do great work to make tourism in the Highlands and Islands so special.

Saturday 26th October:

Today, one of NorthLink Ferries’ employees Kathryn Fullerton, a Passenger Service Supervisor on board the MV Hjaltland, shaved her hair off in aid of Alzheimer Scotland.

Kathryn has raised over £2,400 so far – a fantastic achievement! There are collection buckets on board all of our passenger vessels for those who would like to donate.

All of us at NorthLink wish a huge well done to Kathryn!
