Tuesday 3rd September:
On Tuesday 3rd September, NorthLink Ferries proudly celebrated Merchant Navy Day by flying the Red Ensign from our vessels.
Merchant Navy Day celebrates and honours the many courageous men and women who serve or have served as merchant seafarers, as well as being an opportunity to show appreciation for British shipping and to look ahead to our future as a maritime nation.
Wednesday 4th September:
World Alzheimer Month takes place every September and is a global opportunity to raise dementia awareness and support people affected by the disease.
Kathryn Fullerton works as a Passenger Service Supervisor onboard the passenger vessel MV Hjaltland. She selects a new charity each year to raise money for, enlisting the help of crew, passengers, and the local communities in her fundraising efforts.
This year, Kathryn is raising money for Alzheimer Scotland, and she will be shaving her hair off in aid of this incredible charity on 26th October 2024.
Everyone at NorthLink Ferries wishes Kathryn the best with her fundraising efforts! Donations would be very much appreciated from anyone who wishes to support this fantastic charity – you can donate here or there are collection buckets onboard all of our passenger vessels.
Monday 30th September:
The Highland Open, run by Elgin Duellist Fencing Club and supported by Leon Paul Scotland, is the most northerly ranked open competition in the whole of the UK.
We welcomed Shetland Fencing Club on board the M.V. Hjaltland as they return from competing at the Highland Open. We hope they all had a good journey home with us!
