Serco NorthLink Ferries open for 2021 bookings
Thursday 1st October 2020
Serco NorthLink Ferries has officially opened its booking system for 2021 – giving people the opportunity to book forward travel.
The service has seen steady increases in passenger numbers since the move to Phase 3 of the Scottish Government’s route map and is now in position to open bookings for next year.
Customers are able to book online via the NorthLink website, by phone and in NorthLink ports with the option to secure one of the newly-introduced pet-friendly cabins which give passengers the opportunity to keep pets close by during the sailing.
Seumas Campbell, Serco’s Customer Service Director for NorthLink Ferries, said: “We are pleased to be able to open our booking system for 2021 as planned, allowing people to book travel both to and from Shetland and Orkney.
“With our ferries currently operating at reduced capacity, we expect to see significant demand in the first few months of 2021. We will continue to take a cautious approach in the weeks and months ahead and would advise people to check it is appropriate to travel before doing so.”
NorthLink Ferries’ services are operating on their normal timetable. Assessments have been carried out to ensure appropriate physical distancing can be maintained, which in turn has allowed capacity to be increased. On the MV Hjaltland and MV Hrossey, capacity is currently set at 335 while on the MV Hamnavoe it is set at 370.
There is currently a reduced on-board offering, with the cinema, bars and Magnus Lounge closed at the moment.
Bookings can be made at www.northlinkferries.co.uk or by calling 08001114422 (free from UK landlines and mobiles).
