In February 2023, NorthLink Ferries hosted a competition for our customers to win a return trip to Shetland, we released our 2023 guide and took part in celebrating Valentine’s Day, and the Fairtrade Fortnight. We hope you enjoy reading about our NorthLink news from the month!
Wednesday 1st February:
To mark the Shetland Fire Festival Season, we have partnered up with Shetland.org to offer one lucky person the chance to win a return trip from Aberdeen to Lerwick for four people, including a cabin and a car.

Wednesday 8th February:
The Northern Isles are breathtaking and wild, rich in Norse and Scottish history, wildlife, delicious food and drink, unique folklore, music, poetry and prose. Orkney and Shetland are both quite unlike anywhere else in the UK. With NorthLink Ferries they’re closer than you think.
We released our annual guide for 2023 which is free for all of our customers to download or pick up in our ports and on-board
Saturday 11th February:
Scotland faced Wales at the BT Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on Saturday 11th February during the second round of the 2023 Guinness Six Nations Championship.
Keen-eyed viewers were quick to spot Magnus pointing towards the goal post!
Tuesday 14th February and Tuesday 21st February:
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, passengers enjoyed a free glass of champagne or orange juice and delicious macarons handmade by Aberdeen-based patisserie, Almondine.
We also gave one of our lucky customers a free upgrade to the Magnus Lounge – congratulations to Kate MacDonald and Ryan Harrison who were upgraded on board the MV Hamnavoe.
Monday 27th February:
Fairtrade Fortnight started on the 27th February and will last until the 12th March 2023.
We were proudly named Aberdeen’s flagship business in 2015 by the Aberdeen Fairtrade Steering Group and continue our commitment to Fair Trade by using Fairtrade products where possible from our company polo shirts to our teas and coffees.
Additionally, in support of Fairtrade fortnight we will be donating 20p to fairtrade charities for every hot drink bought on board across the 2 week period.
