Passengers to celebrate Burns Night on board with NorthLink Ferries
Thursday 24th January 2019
The words of the Scottish Bard are set to ring out across the waters of the North Sea this week as passengers celebrate Burns Night with NorthLink Ferries.
On the evening of Friday 25 January, passengers on board MV Hjaltland and MV Hrossey will enjoy a full traditional Burns supper as they depart from Aberdeen and Lerwick, with a menu boasting haggis, neeps and tatties as well as a complimentary nip of Scapa whisky.
In a nod to the life and works of Robert Burns, NorthLink Ferries will also add colourful tartan décor to its Feast Restaurant and introduce the meal with a celebratory ‘Address to a Haggis’.
As part of NorthLink Ferries’ Burns Night celebrations, a bottle of limited edition ‘Lassies Toast’ gin from the award-winning Dunnet Bay Distillers will be up for grabs on NorthLink’s Facebook page.
Seumas Campbell, Serco’s customer service director at NorthLink Ferries, said: “Burns Night is a renowned Scottish tradition and one we always celebrate at NorthLink Ferries. Scots around the world – either on land or at sea – should enjoy the sense of traditional, community and friendliness that the celebration brings.
“This year, our passengers will be dining in style in our onboard restaurants and enjoying some of the finest produce that the Northern Isles and the mainland have to offer. We’re really looking forward to raising a glass to Rabbie Burns this Burns Night.”
NorthLink Ferries Burns Night celebration is part of a seasonal series of events that take place on board throughout the year.
