New menu featuring an extensive range of local produce
Friday 11th January 2013
Passengers on the Northern Isles Ferry services can look forward to the introduction of a new menu featuring an extensive range of local produce from Monday 21 January 2013.
Stuart Garrett, managing director of Serco NorthLink Ferries, said:
“A lot of work went into the new menu to make sure it suits all tastes and preferences and most importantly, makes sure we are taking full advantage of the fantastic produce available on the Northern Isles.
Orkney and Shetland are famed for having some of the finest meat, dairy, fish and whisky producers in the world. Our team spent months researching local producers to source ingredients and delicious food products including fudge, cheese, beef and ice-cream from Orkney and smoked salmon from Shetland.
We are phasing in the introduction of the new menu to allow us to fully train our onboard customer service staff in this new offering. The full menu and a range of other services will be available by Monday 11 February.”
Other new features designed to enhance passenger comfort will be unveiled over the next few weeks, including showers, Sleeping Pods, and new additional reclining seats that remain free to book with an Islander number. Completion of the new refurbishment is expected in February.
