Taste of Grampian – a true showcase of local talent
Monday 6th June 2016
Taste of Grampian 2016 was a first for NorthLink Ferries, both as a sponsor and an exhibitor.
Taste of Grampian is a one day event held at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie. With the weather offering up beautiful sunshine, it was set to be a busy day for all involved.
NorthLink Ferries had a stall situated within the exhibitor centre. Along with that stall came a team of staff ready to take on the crowds. They also came armed with lots of NorthLink goodies.
NorthLink gave away all of these goodies for free and had something more up their sleeves! A competition to win one of two free trips to Orkney or Shetland with a vehicle included, a cabin, dinner, breakfast and Magnus’ lounge passes! All that was needed from the entrants was their name, email address and phone number.
It was obvious why the NorthLink stall was popular once everyone realised this incredible prize was on offer. Many were surprised that the draw was completely free of charge to enter! The prizes were won by Mrs Isabel Watt from Kilmarnock and Michael Mitchell from Inverurie.
If that wasn’t enough, NorthLink Ferries also teamed up with their friends at the Argo’s bakery and the Island Smokery to offer a range of samples to taste! The Orkney Fudge and mouth-watering smoked Orkney Cheese was flying off the table.
Taste of Grampian was a true showcase of local talent and it was great to see so many people out to support such an event. Some celebrity chefs such as Tony Singh and Cyrus Todiwala (The Incredible Spice Men), Kevin Love and Lady Claire Macdonald were more than happy to visit the NorthLink stand.

There really was something for everyone at Taste of Grampian and it was an all-round fantastic day for sponsors, exhibitors and visitors alike. A special thanks must go to all the staff at the Thainstone Centre for running everything so smoothly.
