HASCOSAY

Built in 1971 by Kristiansands M/V A/S, Kristiansand, Norway as the JUNO. In 1979 sold to Finnfranline of France, renamed the NORMANDIA and chartered to Finncarriers for service between Finland and France. In 1982 chartered to Sudcargo and used on services between France and Algeria and the Middle East. In 1986 sold to Mikkola of Finland, renamed the MISIDIA and chartered to Transfennica for services between Finland and Northern Europe. In 1990 sold to Kristiania Eiendom of Norway and renamed the EURO NOR. In 1991 she was chartered to Commodore Ferries and renamed the COMMODORE CLIPPER. In 1996 she was replaced by the COMMODORE GOODWILL and renamed the SEA CLIPPER. She was placed on the charter market. In 1998 she was chartered to the Estonian Shipping Company (ESCO) and operated between Germany and Estonia; she was renamed the TRANSBALTICA. In 2001 she resumed the name SEA CLIPPER and chartered to Fjord Line. In 2002 she was sold to NorthLink and renamed the HASCOSAY. She was chartered to Caledonian MacBrayne to operate between Ullapool and Stornoway during summer 2002. In October 2002 entered service with NorthLink.

CLARE

Built  in 1973 by Rickmers Werft, Bremerhaven, Germany as the WESERTAL for J A Reinecke & Co of Germany. After delivery she was renamed the MEYER EXPRESS and resumed the name WESERTAL in 1973. She was chartered out to a number of operators including North Sea Ferries and Olau Line. In 1988 she was briefly renamed. In 1993 she was sold to CO.NA.TIR. SpA of Italy and renamed the VINZIA E. She was chartered to Stena Sealink Line and operated between Newhaven and Dieppe. In 1994 she was chartered to DFDS subsidiary Dan-Let Line (later DFDS Baltic Line) and renamed the DANA BALTICA. She operated between Denmark and Lithuania. In 1996 she was renamed the CLARE and again placed on the charter market. 1997 she briefly served on NorSea Link, a joint venture between Scandlines (DSB Rederi) and Norse Irish Ferries between Kristiansand and Eemshaven in the north of the Netherlands. In 1998 she was again chartered to DFDS to institute freight only services between Newcastle and IJmuiden. After further brief charters she was, in 1999, briefly chartered to CargoConnect Transport + Logistics and placed on a new service between Hull and Hamburg. In 2001, she was chartered to Smyril Line to operate between Tórshavn and Hanstholm. In 2002, Lerwick was added to her winter itinerary. From September 2002 Aberdeen was added to a year round roster but dropped at the beginning of 2003. In autumn 2003, the charter was ended. In December 2003 chartered to NorthLink.
